Eat Well, Stay Well
The 1959 publication of Ancel and Margaret Keys’s first popular book on the Mediterranean Diet, “Eat Well, Stay Well,” evoked these replies from some national figures they had sent courtesy copies.
The book sold some 120,000 hard-back copies, introduced the Med Diet to the world outside the Mediterranean (where it flourishes among the educated elite while it deteriorates in the culture of its countries of origin!), allowed the Keys to build their happy villa in Italy, “Minnelea,” and was updated in the 1970s edition that added to the title “Eat Well Stay Well” ..”the Mediterranean Way!” HB
