Daan Kromhout hosted a conference in 2002 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Zutphen Study, the Netherlands component of the prospective Seven Countries Study, and to launch a major follow-up publication from the study: Prevention of Coronary Heart Disease.Diet, Lifestyle, and risk factors in the Seven Countries Study, edited by Daan Kromhout, Alessandro Menotti, and Henry Blackburn. Kluwer Publishers 2002.

The Italian Co-principals there were Alessandro Menotti and Flaminio Fidanza.
