Ross, Richard S. MD

Richard Ross, long chief of cardiology at Johns Hopkins, was a staunch supporter of CVD prevention research. When President of the American Heart Association he provided support to establish the Tahoe Ten-day Seminar in CVD Epidemiology that has introduced hundreds of young careers to preventive concepts since 1975. Ross, as president of the American Heart Association during the 1970s, was highly supportive of its Council on Epidemiology and in his leadership role helped advance research and policy in CVD prevention.
