Paul McGovern came to the Univ. of Minnesota in the 1980s as a statistician for tobacco research studies. Soon after, he became the principal statistician on multiple population studies including the Minnesota Heart Survey and the Minnesota Heart Health Program. Among his many contributions were methods for addressing laboratory variation and drift.
