Blair, Steven

Leading epidemiologist in the study of fitness, now at the University of South Carolina, developed most of his data from patients and participants of the Texas Aerobic Institute. In a large cohort he demonstrated the greater predictive power of work capacity over activity questionnaire for CHD and total mortality, in men and women, and the independence of work capacity from overweight in this prediction. Obese fit persons had better risk than lean unfit.
