Inside Food Policy

This “Note from the Director” in the early ’70s contains the argument for consistency of food policy between the public message and the internal practices of the Division of Physiological Hygiene at Minnesota. It worked well with respect to the divisions lunches, snacks, and food events. After a change in management some years later the inside policy became “laissez-faire” and one could even, for a time, find a pop dispenser on each floor in WBOB! Nowadays, only tea and coffee are available from dispensers and the division’s food events serve “real food, not too much, mainly plants!” (HB)
