Tables of Early Studies
The Origins and Early Evolution of Epidemiologic Research
in Cardiovascular Diseases. Tabular Record of Cohort and Case-Control
Studies and Preventive Trials Initiated from 1946-1976
A ready reference is provided to the early pioneering studies of cardiovascular disease (CVD) epidemiology. Tables present the study title, principal investigator, date of initiation, and reference to a defining article for the prospective (cohort) studies that created the CVD risk factor paradigm; for the very few early case-control studies of CVD; and for the clinical trials that led to more definitive trials, preventive practice, and policy.
