Eduardo Farinaro, MD

Eduardo Farinaro is a pioneer in CVD epidemiology and preventive cardiology, serving as Chief of the Department of Preventive Medical Sciences at Federico II University of Naples, and Director of the School of Occupational Medicine and Professor of Preventive Cardiology. He graduated from that school of medicine in 1969 and then was a Research Associate with Jerry Stamler’s Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern.

His research has focused in recent years on the effects of physical activity on CVD risk profiles, including metabolism, psychosocial status, and health. He has been an active member of the International Task Force for the Prevention of Coronary Heart Disease in making professional and public recommendations for prevention. (HB)
