Pioneer chronic diseas epidemiologist at the University of Pittsburgh who initiated studies of sudden coronary death while at Johns Hopkins. He is interviewed by H. Blackburn at the meeting of the American Society of Epidemiology.

Kuller discusses the critical role of the mass preventive trials of the 1970’s in his organization of the department in Pittsburgh and then treats the influence of Michael Oliver on Richard Ross and the development of CVD research at Hopkins and NIH.
