Puska, Pekka, MD (b.1945)

Puska was the Principal Investigator of the community prevention trial in eastern Finland, the North Karelia Project. From this effort he became a national and international public health leader in the promotion of chronic disease prevention and health promotion. After an interim period at WHO, he returned to Finland to head its National Institute of Public Health.
