Lester Breslow, seen here with his wife Devra, is a pioneer in U.S. Public Health and in epidemiology, former head of the California Dept. of Health, former dean of UCLA's School of Public Health, and centrally involved in national leadership. He is best known for his early Alameda Health Study and evidence for behavioral predictors of good health. Devra is a noted art scholar and collector, including art by mental patients.
