Building Healthy Communities for Children:
The Physical and Social Environments

This conference on environmental health examined critical aspects of environments affecting the health and well-being of children from pre-conception to adolescence. Conference plenary and concurrent sessions were organized around three broad themes: the natural environment, the built environment and the social environment and around critical life stages. Special attention was given to the diverse social contexts in which children live, learn, and play.
