Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health Mission
The mission of the Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Health is health
promotion and disease prevention among women, children, adolescents,
families, and communities through education, research and practice.
Emphasis is placed
on
leadership education of future public health practitioners
and academicians;
scholarship through research addressing
the health needs of these populations, especially those
who are most vulnerable;
and partnership through collaboration
with families, community professionals, and other
academic departments focused on promoting the health
of these populations.
As the Directors for the Leadership Education Program
in Maternal & Child Public Health, we are pleased
that you are interested in the field of Maternal and Child Health,
and specifically what we have to offer at the University of Minnesota.
As you will see through your exploration of our website,
we have strong historical underpinnings as well as a vibrant present
day program and set of activities focused on women, children and
families. We are committed both to the training of new leaders
for MCH through our current degree programs, as well as outreach
to professionals in the community who are serving MCH populations.
