Evolution, Lifestyle, & Heart Attacks

In the early and mid-1980s, the Division of Epidemiology of the University was heavily involved in two large projects of our invention, the MN Heart Survey, surveillance of heart attacks and risk factor levels in the Greater Twin Cities, and the MN Heart Health Program, a public health trial of health promotion in Mankato, Fargo-Moorhead, and Bloomington, versus comparison communities, Winona, Sioux Falls, and Roseville.
This video is part of a series aired in the educated towns and reflects our interest in the genetic and cultural influences on heart attack risk, a broad educational effort on lifestyle for those communities.
