Medalie, Jack, MD 	(1922-2006)

Jack Medalie was the founding head of departments of Family Medicine, first in Tel Aviv, and later at Case Western Reserve, Cleveland.

From 1963 he directed an NIH-sponsored study of cardiovascular disease epidemiology in Israel, The Israeli Ischemic Heart Disease Study, with pioneer colleagues Joseph Groen and Henry Neufeld, whose work is carried on by Uri Goldbourt. He was active early on in the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology.
